Beatrix Ong After graduating from high school in Hong Kong and England, Beatrix enrolled in Central St. Martins and London School of Communication in London. She later moved to New York to study at The Fashion Institute of Technology and returned to London where she was accepted into the renowned Cordwainers College, London. Her experience ranges from interning at the Fashion Department of US magazine Harpers Bazaar to designing for Jimmy Choo - an affirmation of her solid pedigree in fashion. Wanting to push the boundaries of beautiful shoemaking was always at the heart of Ong’s decision to go solo. Another reason was the challenge of making shoes that were comfortable enough for women to wear during the day, yet special enough for them to carry on wearing in the evening. With intense ambition, September 2002 saw Beatrix Ong realise her dreams and her first collection was launched at London Fashion Week. It immediately caught the imagination of international press and buyers alike, leading to over 30 prestigious stockists worldwide in its first season. 2002, Sept: Beatrix Ong shoes launch at The Metropolitan Hotel, London during London Fashion Week. 2003, Sept: Beatrix Ong shoes are seen on the catwalks in London and New York at Maria Chen and Temperley.
