MAYFAIR BOUTIQUE LAUNCH PARTY

The bright young things of London descended on Burlington Arcade to celebrate the opening of the new Beatrix Ong Mayfair Boutique.

Guests were a diverse crowd ranging from young royals and country gentry to the latest music stars to a political presence from the Ambassador of China's office. With music provided by Lisa Moorish and Al Doyle (of bands Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem), few could resist an eventual impromptu dance on the specially white-carpeted floor of the Arcade.

The dancing continued until the early hours at the after party at Boujis, South Kensington.

THE MEASURE

Beatrix Ong is asked to contribute to The Measure - a book commissioned by London College of Fashion in its centenary year, edited and conceived by Louise Clarke. Contributors, including Jimmy Choo, Zandra Rhodes, Giles Deacon, Mario Testino and Vivienne Westwood, are asked to reflect on the effect London has had on contemporary culture - specifically fashion - over the last century.

At the launch party of The Measure, held in November 2007, contributors along with special guests graced the event at The Shop at Bluebird on King's Road. When asked who he thought the next big things will be, Jimmy Choo said, "In my eyes, the biggest things in shoe design in the future will be Beatrix Ong."
