This 2007 edition, which has been dubbed the "year-long fantasy in footwear", included our much coveted "Glare" in red patent. Other styles include the "Messager" and "Navarre" boots. The Shoes Gallery Calendar 2007 is available worldwide from all leading book shoes. BEATRIX ONG, HONG KONG PRESS TOURLONDON 2006Harvey Nichols invited Beatrix Ong for an exclusive press tour to introduce her Spring/Summer 07 collection. Held in the chic environs of Harvey Nichols Hong Kong and the luxurious setting of the Shangri La Hotel, Ong was interviewed by some of the leading publications in China. CORDWAINER'S AWARDSLondon 2006Beatrix Ong was invited as an honorary guest to the Cordwainer's Awards at the London College of Fashion. A graduate from Cordwainer's College herself, Ong presented awards to a list of outstanding graduates. The event was highlighted by Ong's speech at the ceremony as well as the signed copies of Dr. Seuss's 'Oh, the Places You'll Go' that she gifted to each prize winner. YOU MAGAZINE TUBE ADVERTISEMENTLondon 2006You Magazine Beatrix Ong’s signature shoe ‘Glare’ was specially selected by British national newspaper The Mail on Sunday, to advertise its lifestyle magazine, YOU. The recognisable red patent shoe was seen at all major London Underground Stations, appearing on escalator panels and 48-sheet posters. The poster remained a fixture in London Underground stations for six months. With a credit to Beatrix Ong on the poster, the ‘Glare’ generated a long waiting list for all shoelovers. NATASHA LAW EXCLUSIVELY FOR BEATRIX ONGLondon 2006Natasha Law was born and raised in London. She graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2000. In the same year she was nominated one of i-D's 200 for 2000. Since then she's worked as both an artist and a fashion illustrator. Her first major exhibition at Space in September 2002 sold out. Law's fans include Sex & The City's Kim Cattrall and fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. She is a regular contributor to fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Jane and The Sunday Times Style Magazine. Natasha Law continues to build her fan base in both her home country and across the Atlantic. After illustrative projects including a collaboration with Vanity Fair and Lancôme and Camilla Morton's book "How to Walk in High Heels", Law's next project will see her working with British shoe designer, Beatrix Ong. Law has created an exclusive illustration for the young luxury brand's new shoeboxes, which will be available in store for Autumn/Winter 2006. FAIR TRADE PROJECT LAUNCHLondon 2006'Beatrix Ong for made' is a Fair-Trade project which will be launched in April 2006. The project embraces the principles of fair trade by ensuring a fair price is paid to the workers and that they receive training and support for their community. The shoes made by hand in Africa and Nepal will be available from retail outlets including Topshop in London's Oxford Street. SHIPLEY ART GALLERY'S EXHIBITIONUnited Kingdom 2006From March 2006, Beatrix Ong's 'Princess' shoe will be exhibited at the Shipley Art Gallery's 'Shoes: The Agony and the Ecstasy', a touring exhibition under the Tyne & Wear Museums. Beatrix Ong's shoe will sit in a Designer's Section alongside Manolo Blahnik, Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Choo. HARVEY NICHOLS, HONG KONGHong Kong 2006From April 2006, Beatrix Ong shoes will be available at Harvey Nichols, Hong Kong, who will carry the line exclusively for the region. NORTHHAMPTON SHOE MUSEUMNorthhampton, UK 2005Selected styles from the Beatrix Ong collections from 2002 to present day will be exhibited at the renowned Northhampton Shoe Museum. Beatrix Ong shoes will feature along side the museums’ permanent collection of shoes which date back as early as 1600. FINANCIAL TIMESLondon April 2005Beatrix Ong was specially commissioned to create a one-off piece for the Financial Times. ‘With a Spring in her Step’ will be displayed in the London offices of the Financial Times from April 2005. HITCH HIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXYLondon May 2005To celebrate the release of the new British film, Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Beatrix Ong was invited to create an illustration and shoe inspired by the movie for a special exhibition supported by Buena Vista International. The illustration and shoe will be showcased at the Science Museum, London from May 2005. RECYCLE YOUR BEATRIX ONG SHOESLondon Spring 2005From Spring 2005, customers of Beatrix Ong will be able to receive new shoes for old shoes. Customers can bring their old Ong’s to the Beatrix Ong boutique in London and receive a 10% discount on all current season’s shoes and bags in store.
