Combining fairytale and fantasy with the real world, Neal Murren has worked with luxury accessories designer Beatrix Ong to design a limited edition shoe box as part of an on-going concept that Ong conceived to create covetable works of art in the form of packaging.
Murren, a graduate of Salford University, perfectly encapsulates light and dark in his whimsical and magical illustration centred around an enchanted box. His design tells the tale of the darker side of our passions, evoking subtle images of life & death, good & evil, awakening a childlike sense of anticipation and excitement.
Upon closer inspection, the ensuing piece of art boasts a wealth of hidden elements encompassing Ong's personal past, present and future. Her passions are cleverly incorporated and silhouettes of her signature creations are injected to lift up the curtains on a journey of a thousand miles.
Beatrix Ong worked together with the highly-acclaimed British artist, Natasha Law to design the shoe boxes that were available from 2006 - 2009. Law is a regular contributor to fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Jane and The Sunday Times Style Magazine. Natasha Law continues to build her fan base in both her home country and across the Atlantic.
